We are excited to welcome special guest teacher Mara Catherine Bryner of Orange Knits Designs! Mara is an experienced knitter, teacher, and designer and we are so excited for her to come and share her knowledge with us!
About this class:
A tuck stitch is a stitch that is made by taking on more than one loop per stitch, resulting in unique textures and color patterns. The most prevalent example of a tuck stitch in modern knitting is the Brioche stitch. (You do not need to know how to brioche to take this class.)
In Tuck Stitch 101 we will explore various forms of tuck stitch and how to achieve them. We will discuss what makes a tuck stitch, and create a tuck stitch sampler swatch.
Required Skills: Basic knitting skills required: cast-on, knit, purl, and bind-off.
-At least three contrasting colors of DK or Worsted Weight yarn
-Appropriate needles for the yarn brought.
-Note taking materials
You may bring your own materials to class or if you wish to purchase prior to the start of the first class, you will receive a 20% discount on materials.
