Cable Knitting 101 with Seth Richardson - Sat, Jan 11, 10:15a-12:15p
Join us as we welcome the talented Seth Richardson to teach us all about cables!
About this class:
Cable knitting is a classic technique that adds movement and texture to your pieces. It can look complicated, but it doesn’t have to be! In Cable Knitting 101, we’ll start with the basics and learn how cabling works, how to read a written pattern that includes cables, how to select suitable yarns, and we’ll also practice a lot of cable maneuvers. The project that we will work on in class is a narrow scarf that explores cabled ropes that twist in two directions and will serve as an excellent way to practice the technique.
About the instructor:
Seth Richardson (he/him/his) is a designer based in Portland, Oregon. He enjoys creating pieces that use simple texture, and he is especially interested in designing works that explore the various relationships of straight lines.
