Colorwork Crochet Stocking - Saturdays, Nov 14 & 21, 2:45-4:45pm

Get a head start on holiday crafting and create a gorgeous heirloom piece that will be cherished for years to come! In this class, you’ll learn how to make one of Briana K Designs' stocking patterns. Either the Prancing Deer Crochet Stocking or the Polar Bear Stroll Stocking - your choice! This project combines classic crochet colorwork with a textured stitch technique that mimics the look of traditional knitting—all using a standard crochet hook.

What You’ll Learn:

• Master the Split Single Crochet (SSC): Learn how to work into the "V" of the stitch to achieve a smooth, dense, knit-like fabric.

• Tapestry Crochet Techniques: Seamlessly carry colors in the round without tangling yarn or creating bulk inside your work.

• Chart Reading Skills: Confidently follow a crochet colorwork chart.

• Stocking Construction: Work in the round from the bottom up to assemble a classic, roomy holiday stocking finished with a cuff.

Skill Level:

• Intermediate (Must be comfortable with basic crochet stitches: chain, single crochet, and working in the round). Experience with crochet increases is a plus, but not required.

Required Materials:

• Pattern: Not included in class price. Please visit Ravelry to purchase your copy of either Prancing Deer Crochet Stocking or Polar Bear Stroll Crochet Stocking, both by Briana K Designs. 

• Yarn: Approx 450 yards total of DK or light worsted weight yarn in 3 contrasting colors (approx 200 yards MC, 125 yards of each CC).

• Hook: US G / 4.0mm crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge).

• Notions: Removable stitch markers, yarn needle, and scissors. Leather strap not included.

• You will receive a 10% discount on required materials purchased at Knotty Lamb, excluding pattern.

Cost: $65 for two, 2-hour sessions
